About
Dearborn After Hours is a fan-made comedy game set in a fictional, not-to-scale mash-up of Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
It started as a joke about how every spot in town has a "boss": the guy who has been at the same Jabal table for six hours, the soccer kid who will 1v1 anyone, the Charger that revs at 2 AM. It turned into a full game with a campaign, a secret final boss, reckless traffic, the most pothole-dense road ever rendered in pixels, and a side quest that pays exactly zero dollars.
How it's made
The game runs in your browser using TypeScript and the Phaser game engine. Everything you see and hear is generated in code when the game starts: every sprite, building, arena, and chiptune song. There are no downloaded art packs or licensed music. Arabic text in the game is rendered with proper right-to-left shaping.
The fine print, in plain words
- Everyone is fictional. The characters are comedy characters, not portrayals of real employees, residents, or public figures.
- Real names are used for flavor. Street names and well-known local spots appear because that's what makes it feel like home. The game is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any business, school, delivery app, or city government mentioned or parodied in it.
- It's affectionate. The jokes come from love for the city and its people. If something lands wrong, tell us through the contact page.
- Content note. Cartoon slapstick, no blood or gore, some crude humor. Clean language is on by default. Adults can switch Settings > LANGUAGE to UNCUT, which lets the final boss swear in English and Arabic.
